the role of the visionary ... what my friend don hornsby revealed to me.
I have often talked about the "role of the visionary". In most cases, when I get on this path of discussion it turns into an all out "rant", and at the end of writing (ranting) I usually feel like getting up and doing something. Making a difference. BUT today is going to be different. I was cruising through the web, doing my normal morning research, and catching up on the lives of my friends and family on Facebook when I ran across a friend of mines, Don Hornsby, wall post. The wall post, though it was "cute", it was equally compelling. SO compelling in-fact that I feel like I will never have to write another manifesto, essay, or idea about "the role of a visionary".
The role of a visionary is to see the "what will be" floating around in the atmosphere, grab it, and pull it into the earth. It's really about that simple right? The visionary has the innate ability to manifest the unseen through persistence, hard work, and a firm belief in what he/she has seen in the atmosphere, or even better yet, what they "expect" God to deliver.
For instance ... Bill Gates saw a computer in the home of every individual on the earth. Steve Jobs saw us leveraging the cell phone in an interesting new way, and the Wright Bro's saw us flying through the sky as birds. Each of these "visionaries" had the ability to see things that others could not see, and they had the audacity to pull them down from the atmosphere and manifest them in the earth. Like hunters and prey, they laid wait, and they practiced the hunt day in and day out until the vision became manifest, then they pounced.
As humans, it's hard for us to sometimes pursue what we can not see. It's difficult for us to believe that the ideas that we have are tangible and real to the universe and in the mind of God. And it's even MORE DIFFICULT for us to realize that the way things make it into the earth, is through the minds and hands of human beings. I have said this once, I have said it twice, I have said it one thousand times, but I am going to say it again ...
"Everything that you see, touch, and feel in the earth, outside of the natural resources, the canvas that God has provided for us, was the direct result of human execution..."
So with that said, I am sharing the video that my good friend Don Hornsby shared this morning from YouTube. The questions that you might want to ask yourself AFTER you watch this video include ... What is nature trying to teach us? Why does every other living thing in the earth understand the role of a visionary, and what was it that removed our "instinctual visionary" behavior?
Thanks Don Hornsby ... You Rock!
